Introduction to the Special Issue on Constraints and Databases

Abstract

This special issue of the journal is dedicated to the memory of Paris C. Kanellakis, who pioneered the area of constraint databases in a seminal paper with Kuper and Revesz. Paris died in a tragic air accident, leaving a void in the many research communities in which he was a leader; looking at the work that he did and influenced emphasizes just how significant this void is.
