Infection of mice with mouse hepatitis virus (MHV) results in a variety of acute and chronic infections. Intraperitoneal (i.p.) infection with MHV results in an acute hepatitis, intracerebral (i.c.) infection induces an acute encephalomyelitis and some survivors show evidence of chronic demyelination (1,2).
