Abstract

There is an apparent high incidence of hyperuricemia in patients selected for diabetes, however epidemiological studies have not demonstrated any relation between serum urate and blood glucose concentration.1 A correlation of serum urate to serum cholesterol and/or triglyceride levels has been described but also disclaimed.2-3
