Thermodynamics of Electron Injection
Chapter
Abstract
The energy of the quasifree excess electron, V 0 , in an insulating fluid is regarded as an equilibrium property. However, the usual experimental determination ofV 0 involves rapid perturbations. Some recent results bring out this difference between theoretical concept and experimental observations markedly. The aim of the forthcoming thermodynamic considerations is to reconcile some of the contradictions which stem from the different footings of theory and experiment.
