Abstract
Iron-sulphur cluster nitrosyls (A: tetranitrosyltetra-u3-sulphidotetrahedrotetrainron and B: heptanitrosyl-u3-thioxotetraferrate (1-)_ spontaneously decompose in solution to generate nitric oxide (NO •). Segments of rat isolated tail artery (7-10 mm) were perfused internally (2ml • min-1) with Krebs’ solution containing phenylephrine (4-10µM). Experiments were performed in the dark.
