The Folding Transformation

Abstract

In Chapter 8, the unfolding technique was used to derive digit-serial architectures from bit-serial architectures. This chapter presents thefoldingtechnique which is the reverse of unfolding [60]. The folding technique is briefly described and is used to derive digit-serial architectures directly from bit-parallel architectures.
