Frequency and Wavelength in Air

  • John M. Eargle

Abstract

In Figure 2, for frequencies from 10 Hz to 100 kHz, wavelength is plotted in meters (left ordinate) and in feet (right ordinate). Normal temperature is assumed. The relevant equations are:
$$ wavelength\left( {meters} \right) = 339/frequency $$
(2.1)
and
$$ wavelength\left( {feet} \right) = 1130/frequency $$
(2.2)
.
