Nitric Oxide Synthesis in Brain is Stimulated By Oxygen
Chapter
Abstract
The purpose of this investigation was to determine the impact of elevated partial pressures of 02 on the steady state level of nitric oxide (*NO) in the central nervous system. Previous investigations have inferred that elevations in brain 02 tension alter concentrations of X10. However, conclusions were based on measurements of the products produced as a consequence of `NO production, rather than direct measurements, and the results have been contradictory (1-4).
