Foreign Body Retrieval

Abstract

Although infrequent, dislodgement of foreign bodies is a possibility during percutaneous dialysis access intervention. Depending upon its location, a foreign body can have an insignificant impact or lead to serious consequences. Therefore, timely recognition of this complication and its management is of utmost importance during percutaneous interventions. This chapter provides practical information on strategies to address dislodged foreign bodies.
