A Brief Look at Technology and Mental Retardation in the 21st Century
Chapter
Abstract
Technology will have an impact on persons with mental retardation in the 21st century in many ways. These will include medical technology, therapeutic-educational technologies, assistive technologies, and technology in the community. The use of technology in medicine is more properly addressed within the total context of medical impact on mental retardation and is therefore not addressed in this chapter. That leaves three major types of interaction between technology and persons with mental retardation.
