Abstract
Andersen (1972) suggested that dietary structure provided the base line of stone incidence within any community, other factors playing either positive or negative roles and that, if this were correct, a biochemical pathway must be demonstrable between the structure of the diet, the resultant composition of the urine and the prevalence and composition of stones.
