Monitoring for the Angoumois Grain Moth in Corn
Chapter
Abstract
The technique of trapping males with synthetic pheromone is currently used to monitor numerous insect pests. However, pheromones have other uses. One new trend, disrupting communication between sexually mature adults by confusion, was hypothesized by Beroza (1960) and Brown (1961). The difference between attraction and confusion is the amount of sex attractant diffused into the atmosphere.
