A Phase Transition Between N < 116 and N > 118 80evenHg Nuclei; Evidence for Possible Triaxia\(\overline l \) Shape of E\(\overline v \)en-A Mercury Nuclei
Chapter
Abstract
The energy levels of 190–200Hg are considered. It is shown that the energy behavior of the 2+, 2 2 + , 4+, 6+ and two-quasi-particle 5−, 10+ and 12+ levels can be understood in terms of triaxial shapes for these nuclei with a phase transition in the γ degree of freedom between N = 116 and 118.
