Studies of Ion Clusters: Relationship to Understanding Nucleation and Solvation Phenomena
Chapter
Abstract
Study of the interactions of ions and molecules provides detailed knowledge of reaction kinetics, especially for certain bimolecular channels, and it is clear that these investigations also yield invaluable information concerning mechanisms of association reactions and related processes of unimolecular decomposition. Now, it is becoming recognized that there is another important area in the field of chemical physics to which such studies also contribute, namely, to an understanding of phase transitions and properties of the condensed state.
