New Phenomena in Incommensurate Barium Sodium Niobate: Memory and Relaxation Effects

Abstract
We report the observation of two new effects in the incommensurate phase of Barium Sodium Niobate : a relaxation and a memory effect. These very large effects are assumed to be induced by a straong interaction between the incommensurate modulation and slightly mobile defects.
