Equilibria in Pressure Swing Adsorption Processes - Experimental and Theoretical Needs
Abstract
The knowledge of adsorbed mixture equilibria is essential for the accurate design and simulation of Pressure Swing Adsorption plants. Since PSA technique usually is applied to weakly-bound or well separated components it is not unexpected that IAS predictions show a good correlation to measured data. However the basic data from pure gas isotherms and their evaluation are of major influence to the mixture results due to an error multiplying effect. For a convenient description of pure gas isotherms we had to consider the temperature dependency of all parameters, e.g. the Henry coefficient, the saturation coverage and the heterogeneity constant.
