Dietary Prevention of Coronary Heart Disease: The Role of Essential Fatty Acids
Conference paper
Abstract
Anyone who writes on this subject of diet and coronary heart disease (CHD) is instantly classified as a believer or non-believer. So polarized are the views (Mann 1977; Hegsted 1978) that credit is seldom given to one wh wishes to try and dissect the facts and not embrace any extreme view. It is particularly the responsibility of professional investigators to try to derive a balanced view. It is equally our responsibility to guide the media. We should not complain if the press and television distort, when we ourselves are unclear.
