Computer-Aided Education
Chapter
Abstract
When television first came out thirty years ago, educators thought it would transform teaching. Since it could present material cheaply to a wide audience, students would not have to travel far for education. Today, television is still used in teaching, but it has never quite reached its vast potential. Perhaps one reason television teaching has not been more effective is that students cannot interact with it as they would with a teacher.
