Abstract
During the last decade, the use of cannulated screws in the treatment of spinal disorders has become fairly commonplace. This technique allows direct stabilization of cervical fractures and also facilitates the placement of screws into the thoracic and lumbar vertebral body using the transpedicular approach. The chapter addresses the anatomy, biomechanics, techniques, and potential complications associated with the utilization of cannulated screws in the spine.
