Abstract

Oedema is one of the first clinical signs of venous insufficiency. Clinically, swelling of the lower legs is present, which gives rise to a tired and heavy feeling in the legs. Slight oedema is difficult to register. In this study an optical leg volume meter was used. We recently described the (intra-individual) reproducibility of measurements obtained with an adapted optical leg volume meter.
