Abstract

DQDB has been the subject of considerable research related to performance modeling issues. Most of the existing results were obtained via simulation as it is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to analytically solve detailed models of this protocol. Due to the complexity of the protocol, models with analytical solutions have been developed to approximate protocol behavior under specific network configuration and workload conditions.
