Disciplines for Complex Diagnostic Systems
Chapter
Abstract
It was observed in Chapter 1 that the implementation and maintenance of a diagnostic fault tree becomes more difficult as the size of the tree increases. This chapter considers how imposing a higher level structure on the diagnostic fault tree can compensate for the effect of complexity. It provides guidance for selecting such a higher level structure, based on the different tasks that make up troubleshooting.
