Abstract
The aim of this chapter is to introduce the use of classes in C#. In the broadest sense, a class is a data structure that can contain data members (constants and fields), function members (methods, properties, indexers, events, operators, instance constructors, static constructors, destructors) and nested types. Class types support inheritance, a mechanism whereby a derived class can extend and specialize a base class.
