Robust Adaptive Control for Circuit-controlled Active Magnetic Bearing with Flywheel System

Conference paper

Abstract

In applications of the active magnetic bearing (AMB) system, it is inevitable that unknown parameters and external disturbances exist in the plant. For this reason, this chapter presents an adaptive sliding mode control design methodology for an AMB system. By utilizing a Lyapunov-based stability analysis , we can achieve asymptotic tracking of desired reference signals, which are subject to parametric uncertainties. Numerical simulations demonstrate the usefulness and effectiveness of the proposed control scheme to the AMB system.
