Abstract
Virtual reality (VR) and the future of the Web are tied closely to the increases in system performance that software like Windows NT can provide. The dream is to interact with others in a different mode than the Email interface that is most common to computer users today. VR will introduce the idea of 3D representation to the Web. This will include Web sites with 3D models of objects for sale (a car you can inspect from several angles, for example), interactive walkthroughs of virtual shopping malls and amusement parks, and even interactive meeting places that will provide you with a 3D representation of yourself that you can inhabit from your computer.
