Recording Your Observations and Other Tips to Help You Stick with the Program
Abstract
Having made your observations, how will you remember them? The best way to do so is to record the observation by drawing (or imaging) the objects and including a detailed description of the objects along with sky conditions, date, time, instrument, and magnification used. With the widespread availability of digital cameras for astronomical purposes, along with various filters, both broad- and narrow-band, many readers may opt to take images of faint objects. Imaging also brings out still fainter objects that are not available visually. We will leave the details on how to do imaging to another source/author, but know that imaging faint objects will require long exposures to capture these objects in detail.
