Abstract
After producing Fallout at Interplay, Tim Cain left the company with Leonard Boyarsky and Jason Anderson, frustrated with the decision-making processes there. In 1998, the trio cofounded Troika Games, and secured a deal with Sierra Entertainment to publish the award-winning Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura in 2001. When the studio closed four years later, the company had developed only two more titles: The Temple of Elemental Evil and Vampire: The Masquerade— Bloodlines. Financially, none were hits, but all are cult classics.
