Abstract
Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) is of course a language devoted to the manipulation of graphics, especially information graphics and interfaces, but there are few if any such images that do not rely to a certain extent upon textual information as well: labels, paragraph blocks, logos, graph keys, and so on. Text consequently plays a large role in SVG, although unlike some areas of the language the way that text works in SVG can prove to be cumbersome.
