There was a message on my voicemail from David Grant, the Head teacher of Bawden Primary School. He would like to see me urgently. Several of his pupils were ‘getting out of hand’. Other schools had children with ‘behavioural difficulties’, but Dave had always said he would never call me out just for that! He was making a point, of course, about the severity of ‘problems’ typically encountered in his school.
