Abstract
The partnerships of the cable television, telephone and information services businesses will affect everyone interested in computers, the internet or movies. These companies have jumped on the partnership bandwagon in anticipation of a revolution in how we work and play. Cable companies are allying with long distance telephone companies and entertainment companies. Telephone companies partner with equipment suppliers and entertainment companies. Multimedia companies ally with everyone including museums, publishers, studios, and travel agents. Whatever the shape of these partnerships is, and however they evolve, the Information Superhighway will affect our work and play well into the next century.
