Abstract
From the evidence put forward up to this point it appears that the stability of the body cannot be ascribed to the bones, joints, ligaments and intervertebral discs alone. It is abundantly clear that the injection of relevant rheumatic patches restores stability and mobility while the arthritis remains unchanged in radiological terms. In rheumatoid arthritis where there is swelling, pain, weakness and restriction of movement in the fingers or wrists, immediate improvement takes place. This can best be described in the words of some patients: ‘It feels as if all the joints have been oiled.’
