Looking Ahead

Abstract

This study of the Hong Kong example has offered a rare opportunity for comparative constitutional study. Its rarity comes from the Joint Declaration’s imposition of many constitutional concepts with Western origins into a Chinese political context. With much of the framework pre-ordained we are afforded in this constitutional confrontation, a highlighted opportunity for an examination of key elements in the modern constitutional dynamic.
