Marxist Nonrealism in Sociology
Chapter
Abstract
This chapter offers an outline of the influence of the Marxist nonrealist stance in sociology. It attempts to show how the methodological principles elucidated in Chapter 6 (with reference to the arguments of Habermas) have become incorporated within the discipline of sociology. The chapter parallels the structure of Chapter 5, where the presence of a Marxist realist stance within sociology was discussed. However, in this case, the presence of a Marxist nonrealism within sociology is indicated.
