Abstract

Ibotenate striatal pyriform and hippocampal lesions have again been shown to produce highly localized lesions with absence of distant lesions. The results amplify the view that the use of ibotenate lesions in combination with biochemistry, quantitative microfluorimetry and receptor autoradiography open up new ways to morphofunctional characterize central neurons under normal and experimental conditions as illustrated in the present analysis on DA and CCK immunoreactive neurons.
