Photosynthesis: Leaf and Whole Plant Aspects
Chapter
Abstract
Photosynthesis is essentially the conversion of light energy to usable chemical energy. The basic requirements for the entire process are seen from the overall equation (compare pp. 143f.)
$$
C{O_2} + 4{H_2}O\xrightarrow[{chlorophyll}]{{light}}\left( {C{H_2}O} \right) + 3{H_2}O + {O_2}
$$
