Abstract
The various forms of energy — mechanical, heat, electrical, chemical, etc. — are interchangeable under the right conditions. The conversion of electrical energy into heat is possibly one of the simplest kinds of energy change. The flow of current by the movement of electrons is always accompanied by some heat. The conversion of electrical energy into heat is utilised in the incandescent tungsten lamp (section 10.3).
