Educational, Diagnostic, and Supportive Psychosocial Interventions for Latinos with Dementia

Abstract

This chapter describes Latinos’* unique experiences of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD) that pose particular challenges for the provision of relevant and accessible psychosocial interventions. It presents specific examples of educational, diagnostic, and supportive psychosocial interventions for Latinos with ADRD and their caregivers. It concludes with a discussion of future directions in the development of psychosocial interventions that target both persons with ADRD and their caregivers.
