Business Strategy—The Foundation for the Technical Architecture

Part of the Springer Professional Computing book series (SPC)

Abstract

The development of a technical architecture cannot be achieved in isolation from the overall business planning process. In fact, a technical architecture is the culmination of a great deal of strategic and architectural planning carried out at the business and IT levels. Development of a technical architecture without considerable direction from both business and IT management is a fundamental flaw of many technical “strategies.”
