Differentiating Message Passing Interface and Bulk Synchronous Parallel Computation Models

Abstract

In this paper we introduce a student exercise that is devoted to compare two parallel languages, namely MPI (Message Passing In- terface) and BSP (Bulk Synchronous Parallel language). The work to accomplish is integrated in a “long term project” because questions act as a nest of dolls: answering one opens a new direction.
