Magnetism, Spin Fluctuations and Superconductivity in Perovskite Ruthenates

The triplet superconducting state of Sr2RuO4 and the rich variety of magnetic ground states observed in perovskite ruthenates are discussed using results from density functional calculations. We emphasize the importance of itinerant effects, which lead to a high sensitivity of the magnetic state to structural degrees of freedom as well as connections between the Fermiology and properties.
