Summary and Future Work

Abstract

The ever-growing complexity of modern distributed Information Systems and the difficulty to foresee all potentially arising disturbances holds out great potential for the application of MAS in this important domain. Despite many research efforts in the last decade, this technology is still in its infancy and is slow to find its way into large-scale information-rich applications such as ERP and PPC systems. The main technical challenge facing the introduction of MAS to such mission critical core applications is the lack of robustness in MAS.
