Abstract

In this paper, the finite element model of elliptical trainer is established by ABAQUS6.14. The natural frequencies and deformation characteristics of main structure of elliptical trainer under various conditions are simulated to make sure that it will not be damaged during working process. By using ADAMS, the dynamics simulation can accurately describe its performance and the characteristic curves of some major components are obtained. The results show that the operating frequency of the elliptical trainer is far lower than the natural frequency of the first order, and it will not produce strong resonance in the process of work. The elliptical trainer which has reliable connection can run smoothly, and there is no big impact during its working process. Comparing with the results obtained by SolidWorks, the dynamic simulation results can better show the dynamic characteristics of practical work and improve the efficiency of elliptical trainer structure design.
