Abstract
Tomotherapy involves helical delivery of radiotherapy where the target is treated slice by slice. Tomotherapy machine has a rotating CT gantry like platform which produces 6 MV photons and a couch that continually moves inwards through the bore. Tomotherapy is of particular importance in patients with long segment or complex fields such as those who are candidates for craniospinal irradiation, total marrow or total lymphatic irradiation, and breast cancer. This chapter deals with patient selection, simulation, contouring, planning, and plan evaluation in tomotherapy.
