Bronchial Branch Tracing

Abstract

The objectives of performing endobronchial ultrasonography (EBUS) with a guide sheath (EBUS-GS) to examine pulmonary peripheral lesions can be broadly divided into “confirming the presence of a lesion” and “understanding its internal properties.” Since sampling lesion tissue is essential for pathological diagnosis, concerns have been raised that EBUS tends to be used solely to confirm whether or not a lesion is present.
