Abstract
The source of contamination of water could be comprised in four categories such as aesthetic, biological, chemical, and dissolved solids. Developing countries are the birthplace of water-associated infectious diseases as the basic necessities of water, hygiene (WASH), and sanitation are not according to the required standards. The changing source of water bodies changes the pathogens related to water-associated infectious diseases. Various other reasons of contamination of water resources that eventually lead to rise in water-associated infectious diseases are traditional burial of dead body releasing decaying microbial agents in the soil that percolate during rainfall and adulterate the groundwater.
