Abstract

Since the creation of the Université des Mascareignes in 2012, there has been an urge to develop online learning resources that students might need for their instruction and research during their university years. So far, resources abound in the form of textbooks, CDs and online resources like EBSCO along with an online library facility from Université de Limoges (Unilim, France). Business students in human resource management, banking and related disciplines need up-to-date resource material for their immediate use and application to their studies. This research purports the need to have a well-structured learning platform targeted specifically to student needs. By creating an online and intelligent platform, students might have access to the appropriate research undertaken by former students, resource material from local newspapers and journals and also reading material to supplement their work. Such creation of an online resource platform aims at improving the access to high-quality premium research material but also help in enhancing the quality of research. Through a demanding process of requiring updating and maintenance of resource material, the database will be a valuable tool for students and alumni alike.
