Abstract

The present investigation focused on the optimization of the various process parameters of tungsten inert gas welding operation. AISI 304 stainless steel has been taken as the base metal. Taguchi’s L27 orthogonal array has been chosen for the design of experiment. The selected input parameters are current, voltage, root gap and gas flow rate. Further, the mechanical testing was performed. Bending strength and micro-hardness values are chosen as the response values. The regression relation between input parameters and response values are designed with the help of response surface methodology.
