Abstract

This book offers a comprehensive, systematic, and critical conceptual overview of the spatial-economic aspects of contemporary tourism dynamics, establishing connections with other disciplines with relevancy for tourism studies, such as geography, environmental sciences, management, marketing, anthropology, or urban studies. This conceptual analysis is complemented with practical examples related to empirical applications recently undertaken by the author. Although the work does not focus on quantitative methods of analysis, appropriate references for related quantitative approaches are presented for each of the topics under analysis.
