Abstract

The significance of securing information has reached a critical level in recent years due to digital terrorism, infringement of people’s seclusion, and the obligation of communicating without intrusion and hacker attacks. Present encryption algorithms to preserve text data are not suitable for multimedia application because of the huge data volume and real time restriction. In the concept of video on demand (VOD), the proposed work emphasizes encrypting only the specific part of the frame which is of greatest interest to the user. To achieve this, a novel selective video encryption based on the entropy measure of the blocks is proposed. The technique is analyzed using different parameters including histogram, number of pixels change rate (NPCR), peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), correlation coefficient, etc.
