Abstract

Perhaps because normal gut movements are not consciously perceived, much emphasis has been placed on control by enteric nerves and ‘gut hormones’; now that it is clear that the latter are common to both brain and gut, closer study of the ‘brain-gut’ axis is required and we have developed a model for this (1,2).
